The Mountain

The Hermitage Club is the only private, non-profit member-owned ski club resort experience in the East. Haystack Mountain’s ski trails and slopes offer a wide variety of terrain with the comfort and familiarity of a neighborhood park for all levels of skiers, including classic New England white birch glades.

Haystack Mountain first opened in 1964 as a less crowded and decidedly irreverent alternative to busy Vermont ski areas -- a goal we still maintain today.

what people are saying

“Unlimited number of runs with no lift lines or crowded trails, wide variety of terrain for beginners or black diamond enthusiasts. It's an ideal mountain for us, and our kids.”

Haystack Mountain

Haystack Mountain offers something for everyone, from long winding greens and blues, to steep blacks plus maintained glades to fill your need for tree skiing. The mountain’s northern peak and trails known as 'The Witches' is a playground dedicated to experts serviced by a dedicated triple chair offering 3-state views. The distinct Lower Mountain includes a teaching area, beginner runs and introductory terrain parks serviced by the Stag's Leap quad chair and a first-timers 'magic carpet' giving beginners a range of options to hone their skills.

The Barnstormer

A jewel amongst New England chairlifts, the main mountain is serviced by a 6-person high speed lift with protective bubbles and heated seats that whisks you past the Mid Mountain Lodge and to the top in comfort in just 4 minutes, for run after run of fun with friends and family.

It's All About The Snow

The Hermitage Club operates Friday through Sunday and holiday weeks.  This allows us to be discriminating in our snowmaking and grooming plans, taking advantage of only the best weather and opportunities.  No rushed morning grooming schedules, the patience to create drier snow, and limited skier traffic all contribute to a better product.  We call this 'curated snow' and it's all part of our efforts to delivering the best skiing and riding conditions each weekend.
